I have a few questions about the PGP lottery program and was wondering if someone can help clarify things.

- Can i still continue with the process even though we don't meet the income for 2 years? there's an option in the application form that says you can still continue with the process even though you are not eligible but they won't return your money. what does that mean?

- We can still qualify if we change the family members to 5 instead of 6. Can i still apply for the lottery and sponsor one more parent even with the existing one parent under your sponsorship? Is it true that as long as you are in good standing you can sponsor another parent.

i got excited when we got picked but finalizing everything is a different story. its heartbreaking if you got picked but not eligible.

thank you

Why would you continue when you don't meet requirements? It's mandatory to meet the income requirement.

If you continue you just take the place of someone who does meet the requirement and end up being rejected.

You can continue the application, but it will be refused. It just means you won't get the application fee back.
How do you change your family size from 5, when it was 6? If you are sponsoring both parents, dropping the sponsorship for one won't work. They will both need to be included.

No point submitting an application if you don't meet the income requirements. Refusal is guaranteed.

No to your second question as well. You must include both of your parents in the family count and have enough income to sponsor both - even if you are only sponsoring one parent now.

You shouldn't have entered the lottery if you weren't eligible to sponsor your parents - this was a very selfish act.

It means that you can still continue with the process even though you are not eligible but they won't return your money. You totally understood it correctly.

You can do whatever you want. There are no repercussions. The worst is you lose a couple of hundred of dollars.

They quite clearly laid it all out in the interest to sponsor form. See above. And you have to answer "yes" to submit and enter the lottery. So you picked yes when you weren't sure? And they still picked you. It is a very fair and forgiving system.

I would apply and send letters back and forth explaining till they give in. I think Trudeau's government is very good. He is here to help all of us. And he is very compassionate and caring. He will help you. Ask him for help.

You can apply and your application will be process to the point where it gets refused.
requirements were mentioned right on the page where you applied.

Where do you come up with this stuff? The Trudeau government may not be around when the application is processed. And it isn't a political party procedure, it's an immigration procedure....black and white.....and they don't usually give in as it sets a dangerous precedent.

for this kind of things they have humanitarian and compassionate stream, one can try their luck there. But if applied through this channel even 1 dollar can render a person ineligible, no if no but.
