Parents Grandparent Visa - Proof of Marriage

Hi, for PGP 2020 the checklist says that we need to provide a marriage certificate. My parents do not have a marriage certificate, instead can we provide passport copies for each of them showing spouse information on biometric pages?

I checked on some forums and it says that a notarized affidavit will work in place of a marriage certificate for parents.

If my parents get their marriage registered now, will it raise questions about entering relation just for PR?

My parents are currently visiting me in Canada. my last day for form submission is March 14. They can do the affidavit or register their marriage in May once they go back. Can i mention that in the explanation letter along with supporting documents which can prove their marriage? Will IRCC accept that?
