Hi,
Both of my parents met the residency requirements in 2015 and applied for PR card renewal. Waited for 5months and left to India. Their PR cards are ready, my dad's card was mailed to home in Canada and my mom needs to pick up the card in person. Currently she is India, counting from 2016 (back 5yrs) both of them are missing 3months.
My father is sure that he can't live in Canada for more than 4 months. He wants to come in summer time stay for few months and want to go back by middle of September or so. Both of them don't want to stay in Winter here.
For them just to come and stay in summer and spend with kids and grandson, I am thinking of
1) Voluntarily renounce permanent resident status
2) Apply for Super Visa.
Here are my questions, may be someone can help
1) To complete the 2 steps (Renouncing and applying for Super Visa), Do I need to have a lawyer? Does it help?
2) Would there be any issues in getting Super Visa after Renouncing PR status?
3) I read about buying Health Insurance while applying for Super Visa. Do I need to buy it for an year (instead of 4 months - the time they stay in Canada)?
4) Can I apply for both of them at the same time or do I need to wait for Renouncing in order to apply for Super Visa?
5) My parents wants to come to Canada in Summer 2017. 1yr time would be enough to complete these 2 tasks in INDIA?
If I have forgot about any other issues/information, please let me know.
Thanks in advance. I appreciate all your help.
