You need your birth certificate to prove your relationship with your parents.

Parents birth certificate is only required, when you are sponsoring your grandparents. To show the relationship between your grandparents and parents.

Did they specifically mention birth certificate as proof of relationship? If I am not wrong I think passport has names of our parents, so your passport's first/last page (which has mother/father's name) and your parents passport's first page should prove your relation.

I see supporting documentation point 4:
  • Make sure you submit a copy of your birth certificate, and (if you have included dependants in your application) the birth certificates of your family members.

I am not sure about that. I had asked my parents, who are in India to get the birth certificate made. Just in case I get the invitation for the sponsorship.
