Hello Folks

I would like some advice on my case. Is it OK to list a 21y+ (but less than 22y) child as independent in the sponsorship application if he/she is already studying in Canada? If we declare the child as a dependant, what reason should we include to say that he is not accompanying? If we include him as a dependant and accompanying, we are not able to meet the financial cutoff for 2019 and 2018. Please advice.

The child must be declared as a dependent if under 22 years old.

The only way the child can be omitted is if the child is either married or common law (i.e. has been living with a partner for at least one year continuously).

If you don't have enough income to move forward with the application, then don't submit it. If you exclude the 21 year old as a dependent, you're risking a misrepresentation finding and a ban.

Wait until next year and apply again.

Just to clarify, even if the child is non-accompanying, you must still include him in your income calculation. He must be included regardless of whether he is accompanying or non-accompanying.

i have a question filling in financial evaluation form,
Our family size in 2018, 2019 and 2020 was 4 ( myself and wife, Mom and Dad) but in 2021 we had a daughter and its 5 now.

The income requirement i have to consider is for 4 person according to the CRA instructions on their website. but when i fill in the form if i include me, wife, mom, dad and daughter it calculates for 5, wonder what am i supposed to do? leave it at 5 and provide explanation or exclude daughter?

I have questions regarding form IMM 5669 it says write your full name in native language. How do we do that when u do online , can we print and write and scan it ? Also I am only sponsoring my mom and no dependent’s , so when we do form IMM 5669 do we filled out for declaration do we need to filled out for all other her children’s and siblings? Or just for her only ? In check list it says principal applicant and all their dependants

Thanks

Please can you point me to where I can find this on the document checklist?
It's not the document checklist but the guide that has it:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5772-application-sponsor-parents-grandparents.html

On that page it says:
Passports
  • Copies of passports for people being sponsored should include all the pages.
  • Copies of the sponsor’s and co-signer’s passport should include the pages showing the passport number, issue and expiry dates, photo, name, surname, and place and date of birth.
  • You don’t need to get translations for the stamps in passports.

Hi,

I am applying for my dad, wanted information on filling in the IMM008. For the dependent section, my siblings and I are in Canada and are PR holders or citizens. I wanted to know if I need to add our info.

I think you have a family size of 5 if we include your parents, Please send the link to the cRA instructions you referred to. Thanks
