It is more like an indirect request. The CIC page where this information is available is for sponsoring spouse and not parents/grandparents. I wonder why CIC didn't create a separate page clarifying what country-specific documents are required. The email looks like a generic message that CPC sends out to all sponsorship applicants irrespective of spouse/parents/grandparents.
I agree with your thoughts. The page does not specifically call out for Parents and Grandparents.
Did you receive a similar request? If so, what course of action did you take?

Can we send the passports while they are here in Canada? - Yes

File processing speed depends on VO and LVO. Check: https://sites.google.com/view/pgp2019/home?authuser=0
Thank you so much for your reply.
I have checked the link, basically I just have to wait and watch I guess.
I was reading other posts and some people have mentioned that you can also check using UCI on ecas but even that does not bring any results. I have tried both my UCI and my mother's UCI.

I have a question about sending additional documents to IRCC. In the letter, it says that the documents must be smaller than 5MB. I tried to shrink all my files but still all of them combined is around 6MB. What should I do? if I send what I have for now, will there be a problem? Thanks so much!

Try to compress the file using online compressors, but make sure the quality of compressed file is not compromised a lot.

@robertp - PLease update line 232
Finally after 6 months of my application sitting in Vienna I have received:
Feb 6 - Pre arrival service letter
Feb 10 - request for Medical and PCC
OMG, I thought something is wrong with my parents and my in-laws applications. Both of their applications are in Vienna. They did the Biometrics back on 6th of November and nothing since then. Are you saying we'll possibly wait for another 3 months? Other people applications are moving lightning fast compared to this. Ridiculous...

Hello everyone. IRCC emailed me last December 20, 2019 for my Sponsorship approval letter, together with that letter is asking for police certificate and other details. I have provided everything with them via email. Question is are they still going to email me for another police certificate? or that is it? Thanks

That's not a problem. Many people, including me sent attachments over 5 mb

Normal , in this case your PR application transfer from CPC-M to Local VO ( New Delhi) and waiting for "In process"
how long does it take to get another letter for PPR after requesting in the webform. PPR letter mentions to submit in Canada's address but right now she is in India.Called VFS they cannot submit the PP as the letter does not mention New Delhi

Not sure what do you mean by "indirect". They asked for it and directing applicants to the link for details. There are reported cases in the forum where they specifically asked for these documents when they were not provided

Hi Everyone,

I have received AOR on DEC 3, 2019 and since then no update. Tracker line #750

My parents are planning to come to Canada in March and I'm worried about their Medical, PCC and Bio.

Is it possible to submit Medical, PCC and Bio-metric in advance?

Please advise
Thank you so much

Same happened to me. Then suddenly it changed from your action required to submitted. But in the biometrics status , is is saying we have not received your biometrics. Though new biometrics information is updated on the top right corner of the IRCC account. It is strange but happened same to many of us.
sorry I did not understand. How Can I check if the biometric have been recevied?

Thank you,

Your parent can have their medicals, bio done here in Canada. Once they are here call IRRC so that they can update your parents address. For PCC you can request it to your country of residence before they come here. Hope this info helps.
