To get OAS, they have to be a resident for 10 yrs. Any disability benefit will be considered as welfare benefit and you have to repay that. They are not eligible for any other types of social benefit (like social housing also).

Depending on your province, they will be eligible for (almost) free drug and dental benefits.
I thought the undertaking is for 20 years so parents won't even get OAS before 20 years have passed.

Good morning, quick question >> After submitting additional documents my My CIC status still shows "Your Action is Required". However, inside the account it shows "We are reviewing your additional documents". Is this a concern? I have submitted all the documents requested but the status still says your action is required. No email has been received from IRCC about any extra document required.

What to do?

Great! Thanks. Glad prescription drugs & dental will be free.

When it says your action is required, it's usually indicate they send you bio and/or medical tests. What do you under the message section at the bottom.

I am may 14th applicant I was asked same thing on nov 4th, send your school documents or passport where it’s says your parents name n all that, I sent it on nov 5th but since then heard nothing. What’s your application submission day

I am also in the same boat, sent the birth certificate and other documents for proof of relation with PA.

I sent it on Nov 11th, still waiting on DM for SA.

File received on May 28th

Yes, and I have already completed medical (medicals passed) and biometrics (updated). So I do not understand why it has not been updated.

I got Biometric Request today. However, Sponsorship application under Client Application Status still shows as In Process. If we got Biometric request does it mean Sponsorship is approved? Also, in how many days does Medical request come after Biometric?

It takes time...mine remained your action required for considerable time. When VO touched the application it changed to submitted.

Yes, I think there is nothing much I can do right now. It is weird because, after almost 2 weeks of submitting the additional documents, I received the Pre-Arrival Services letter. But still, my account was not updated.

just posting this to make sure things are on track.

for my parents "kunalap #1" application.

biometrics - done on 12th Nov (shows online too)
email asking for PCC, country specific docs, etc - emailed to them on 2nd Dec (nothing online)
medical - done on 27th Dec (shows online too)

online status still shows "in progress" and no new news.
Was i supposed to send hard copy of PCC? there is no way for me to track that request which came by email and documents were also by email.
