This is exactly why it is dangerous for people to be talking like applications will be processed in 6-12 months. Best to go with what IRCC says and be happy if they process a bit earlier.

Well they already added 70 secretly above the 20,000.

Anyway I prefer to have hope and be positive about this since they have not said that they will NOT take in more than 20,000.

They have consistently said they will accept 20000 applications. There was even a tweet recently. They will process all the applications but only 20000 will be accepted this year. The rest should be bumped to next year according to their plan.

I have checked a spreadsheet, one of the people got a request for biometric and his status is a decision made too.

Well they did for most of the cases last year. Also I know few people personally it took them 5 months to get thier parents here from India and this include request for medical and pcc. If you check spreadsheet for 2018 you will get a better idea

That is dependent on elections so not set in stone unfortunately.

There are still outstanding applications from 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and probably before 2014 so there is a backlog.

I would like to see your reference for this please. They invited 26,000 people and there is no logic to keep 6,000 completed applications for processing towards next yr's quota.

I think they received more applications during May 6-10 and thus they are taking longer to process and update Ecas
