Thanks. I totally missed that 2017 part :( and I applied because it was open to everyone. Right? I took my chances by applying it and they proved to be solid for me, and even if I apply I am risking it so since when not taking risks in life has become the coolest thing?

I feel bad I can't proceed anymore so FML :(
So you lied when you check "YES" on meeting the income requirement!!!

yes you are in default check with someone . plz if a person you sponsored whose still dependent upon you goes to government and gets EI you have to pay that money back before you are even eligible to sponser someone else or else you are in default and your application is returned
I called CIC and asked others as well, I was told EI is not same as Social Assistance. EI is deducted from our pay so it is our money.

I am not sure where can I find further information on this to make it 100% firm?

That's true, you are contributing to EI from each pay cheque, its not social assistance. At the end of year you will get a T slip showing that. Also its just the beginning of the year, why are you worried about the 3-4 months for your annual income. Lots of time left for 2019. I believe all you will have to prove is annual income as per tax assessment till 2018.

CIC is wrong. EI is not counted because it doesn’t reflect your yearly income. Will look for link.

He has a weird situation. His income meet MNI alone. So he is asking if his spouse/co-signer getting EI will affect his applicaiton.
I think he will be fine. The income from the cosigner is not a really a factor here.

Hi Guys,

I am in a very weird situation and hoping to get some clarification here.

I am sponsoring my parents in 2019 program, I qualify to support our family size without a co-signer.

However I sponsored my spouse in the past, who has been in Canada for just over 2 years. So, I am still under spousal sponsorship financial obligation.

Further to this, my partner just got laid off work this month and has applied for EI last week.

My question/concern is, will any of this affect my application to sponsor my parents?

Any help is much appreciated!!

It will be if you can't make enough for this year (after you find a job or not) and if they request you to proof your current income.

EI is taxable, you get 55% of previous year income as EI if you have not been working the whole year (max of $562 per week = approx $29K a year).
You pay tax on this income, its your minimum income in case you remain on EI whole year.

Hello everyone I was invited today. Is there any spreadsheet that we can update our time?
Yes, see my signature.

Is there a tracking sheet? I just mailed out the application today lol
Yes, see my signature.

The other one is some kind of copy paste mess back from people were trying to figure out a connection between submission and confirmation after someone disappeared with several hundred responses.

This one is the regular one I hope to update if users use the simple template.

Good to see someone's paying attention at least.

I don’t think you checked my question.

I am not using EI to meet the financial income to sponsor parents.

I meet the income requirements without a co-signer and I have never used EI or any other benefit from government.

However I sponsored my spouse in the past, who has been in Canada for just over 2 years. So, I am still under spousal sponsorship financial obligation.

Further to this, my partner just got laid off work this month and has applied for EI last week.
