Hi All,

Once you receive PR and if parents are in Canada, do you need to leave country and re-enter? Is there any other way?

Thanks in advance....

Yes, they have to leave (just flag polling on nearest US/Canada border should be enough). Also there is a option if you can schedule an appointment with your Canada immigration office in your city (in Canada), they do all those flag polling formalities there itself, but waiting time for appointment might be long.

For more information Call CIC call centre to ensure that these options are available and plan accordingly.

As per my information you may do Flag Pole at any Canada/US Borders, check with CIC if that option is still available. People who come to Canada on a Work Permit and get PR usually Flag Pole to get their PR Status , check if this option is applicable to your case. So as part of this process you do not enter USA and just return back to Canada via Border crossing ( remember you get a Visa stamped for PR processing so that visa is used to enter Canada ) .

Even there are local offices in some cities where you may complete your PR Landing formalities ( There may be some wait time and you need to book an appointment for completing these formalities ) . I hope this would be helpful for you.

Thank you so much for replying.

My dad had TB like 20 years ago and treated and with no symptoms now. When we applied for his super visa in 2012 or so he was sent for additional tests and then given super visa and advised regular followup with doctor to make sure he is doing okay with regards to TB.

We applied for visa again after his super visa expired in 2017, but he was given visitor visa at that time (because I was on mat leave and my income was not enough for my parents to have super visa - I forgot to include my husband). My parents in Canada right now.

After coming to Canada, he got heart disease and because of that now there are some more scars (he had some scars from TB but now scars increased) in his x-rays. His BP and diabetes is well controlled. He has some effects on kidneys because of long-standing diabetes (20 plus years history of diabetes), but kidneys are stable.

My mom also got medical furtherance a day after my dad got email and for my mom there's nothing that we can think of as to what can be a problem.

So if they start person on treatment for 6 months, they need to leave Canada till the treatment is done you think or what happens.

I am so worried now.

I appreciate your reply and we will book with CIC panel physician next available appointment.

Hello, Sorry for late reply , came online after many days. I hope you got some relief after talking with Panel Physician for further tests. I assume more tests for your Mother may be to test for TB as accompanying spouse and nothing else. I think in such cases they test both partners if one of the Partner shows signs of TB. I hope everything goes well for you. FYI- There is a big thread on this forum where ppl have discussed TB related visa issues, Link : https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...history-sputum-tests-6-mos-medication.150897/

Did u apply online and then collect it from local police station to attest it from foreign ministry?
I am going to apply for my parents after Eid. CIC needs this by july 8th.
Please apply as soon as you can. I have applied July 5 still I have got in my hand. So it would be better if you apply online and collect from local Thana then attested from Foreign Minister. This is the only way u can avoid unnecessary waiting time which I did not now I am regretting.

Thanks,
Ashim

Food for thought… we received medicals request on May 4th and they gave us 30 days to get it done. On June 5th exactly after one month we received that generic email to send docs about travel history, PCC etc. and again they gave us 30 days.. so next update will be in 1st week of July….anybody around same time line?

I am:)
