I can’t work that’s it. Why are you asking that question??
I think a lot of people here have issues with your cavalier approach to benefits the Canadian government very generously pays out. You have come to Canada, and worked just barely enough to qualify for EI, then gave birth. Then you worked the barest amount to qualify again, and gave birth again. You sent your children back to India and are now claiming parental benefits, while being out of status pending a possible renewal.

Strictly speaking, everything you're doing may be within the letter of the law. But it shows a pattern of attempting to get every possible cent out of the Canadian government as possible. One of the eligibility criteria of the CCB is to live with the child - which is hard to do if the children are in India. We're not sure where you are, since you refuse to answer that part.

A visa officer reviewing your work permit application may refuse the application based on financial resources - Canada is under no obligation to give you a work permit if you 'need the EI to survive.' In fact, that would be grounds for returning you to the country.

What it seems is that you got status in Canada to give birth, and worked just barely enough to get EI coverage. It's like birth tourism, but to an extreme.

Because you keep asking why you cannot receive EL while you are on implied status. You need to keep in mind that in order to get EI benefits you are required to have a valid WP. You are on implied status yes, but then the outcome of your application could be a refusal or approval. It does not make sense for you to receive EL based on an application to extend you OWP which could be refused.

You have the right to go home at any time, if you don't like how we do things here..
The person made a valid point. But of course, instead of giving a direct answer to the point you deflect by simply stating " you can go home at any time"
Just remember. Its the immigrants like us who come here to this Country LEGALLY, that pay thousands of dollars in taxes are the ones responsable for this great economy. So don't you forget that girl

I feel your pain, I hope your doing well since your last post. Please don't take these clowns on here too serious. You are a tax payer like everyone else.

Think people must research in advance whether they will receive benefits and healthcare before thy get pregnant unless they are Canadian PR and/or citizens who have met their RO. This is especially the case if you don’t have any savings.

I agree 100%
But to tell a pregnant woman who's obviously going through a lot. "Oh well if you don't like it your welcome to leave" is just low and flat out disgusting. Not once did she say that she hates Canada, she was simply stating her frustration with the system as she deemed it unfair. That's all.

This woman likely planned to have 2 children close together while on her 2 year work permit and worked just enough to qualify for EI. If she is complaining about not being able to afford to stay in Canada she always had the option of returning home. She went back to India on vacation for a few months while receiving EI after her 1st pregnancy and may have be planning on returning again. I think the expectation that she deserved EI payments was the issue. She had just had 2 children and had been paid 2 mat leaves after paying taxes on the around 600 hours needed to qualified fly for EI twice. Complaining that you deserve EI because you have contributed to EI (and the health system) is a bit much. Without permanent status and without savings it is up to you to do the due diligence to make sure you qualify for a benefit before counting on it. Also the expectation that payments will start immediately is also unrealistic and she should have enquired about that. Waiting only a week is very good for EI.
