Hi,
I have a complex scenario..
I want to sponsor my mother to Canada, got invitation letter today. My question is related to family size. In 2018, 2019 & 2020 I lived alone in Canada. My wife and her daughter were living in Nepal that time. In Feb, 2021 my wife and her daughter landed in Canada as PR (Sponsored by me). I understand that, based on my present situation my family size is 4. But what family size to be considered before they landed here?
It is to be noted that only my wife's information was included in 2018,19 and 2020's tax return.

Thanks in advance for expert's answer.

Not complex at all. When did you get married? If prior to their landing, then you count all years. If included in your tax returns since 2018, your family size if four. It doesn’t matter that you were living alone if legally married.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, we got married before that year. But only my spouse was included in the tax return since 2018, not her dependent. Because , there was no legal guardianship document for her. Should her dependent be considered for the whole period as well? Thanks.

Not sure but if you sponsored her through PR then she would be part of your family numbers. You need to check with IRCC. Do you meet LICO?
