Im a canadian citizen with good standing and recently applied for my parents visitor visa, sadly their application got rejected. They have travelled to many countries in the past including Canada. In the refusal letter stated that the officer is not convinced they will leave Canada after their visit. Does anyone have similiar experience? know where to contact or submit an appeal? no email address or contact information is provided.

What were the full reasons for refusal? Your standing as a citizen has no bearing. They can reapply. There is no appeal process unless they want to file a judicial review with the federal courts, and file that officer made an error according to laws/regulations.

if u think your parents have a strong financials and ties to their home country then submit a reconsideration request through webform and same time apply gcms notes, there must be an error if your parents had previous Canada travel history along with other counties... IRCC has some serious issues in their system and I'm strongly believe that some times they even don't open the files completely and gives decisions

Hi, same happened with me. My parents visitor visa got rejected, we got the letter today. Me and my sister both are PR in Canada. My sister is expecting baby next month, that's why we wanted our parents to visit for taking care of her. They gave the rejection reason as : No strong family tie ups in home country and lack of funds. We showed $10000 in our bank account and $3000 in our parents account and mentioned we will be taking care of their travel and stay. My father is not working now and he doesn't have property on his own name in home country. What should we do in this case?

How long was their visit because $3k is very little money? Your funds don’t have to be considered. Even $10k is low for 2 people. Consider supervisas if you meet LICO and since your parents don’t have the funds to support their own visit. They need to show reasons to return home and if their family is in Canada, and they are not working with no property then their profile is weak.

Was there an invitation letter about your sister’s pregnancy too?

Stating your sister’s pregnancy may have not been a good idea especially if the letter said that your parents were their to help her. Given they will not make the birth, the letter should just state to meet their grandchild. Your employment, paystubs and bank statements are not relevant. VOs want to see your parents employment records, paystubs and bank statements. Seems your parents don’t have the funds so consider a supervisa if you meet LICO. They will need a year of health insurance and medicals.

Don’t know how long the visit is but keep it really short with only $3k. Could they even afford to buy airfare? So if reapplying for a TRV, they may want to wait to increase their bank account statements. They want to show enough funds to support a visit but not spend all their money. As for ties, there really is nothing they can change.

Also when did they apply? If a quick rejection it means it was an easy decision for refusal based on $3k and no ties to home country.

I wouldn't put pregnancy as a reason to travel bud. I feel that would have led to this denial. Sorry for your situation.

But shouldn't this be a strong reason for parents to visit as she need support after her delivery?
For parents it could be. For IRCC, this could seem like not a visitor visa purpose. I will leave it for experts to comment but have seen people asking others to stay away from giving such reasons for travel.

Visiting/meeting a new baby would be a reason for a visit but you said to care for mother and baby. Providing any type of babysitting, cooking and cleaning, etc. are considered work. What is there citizenship? Do they have any children in their home country. The fact that they have 2 children in Canada and have minimal ties to their home country is one of the issues. There is nothing incentivizing them to return home based on what you have said. The funds are the biggest issue. As already pointed out 3k may not even cover airfare. They should also be taking out some for of travel medical insurance because your family doesn’t have the savings to cover trip to the hospital. You are sisters you can’t show joint funds. You can each show your savings or savings with you and your partners. If one is having a baby then only having part of the 10k doesn’t go far especially if you had been working and are going on maternity leave without any employer top-up. Babies are expensive.

Does either child meet LICO to sponsor the parents for a supervisa. If a sister meets LICO how much savings does that sister have?
