Yes people have been able to extend but it is not guaranteed and 1 year is not guaranteed. You will need to apply for an extension before the 2 years but you will not know how long you will be able to remain in Canada when you leave the UK.

Can I just have responses from people who have actually done this, I am not after what you may or may not get, I am fully aware ...
I would like to hear from people who have done it and how they found the process.
