Parent sponsorship

Hi All,

I received the invitation to submit the sponsorship application for my parents. I was wondering if there is any impact on the application I will submit for the following situation:

My parents received their permanent resident status in 2005 and didn't manage to stay for 2 years in Canada within the 5 year period ending in 2010. Therefore, my parents lost their permanent residence status.

Also, is the Biometrics required on the submission of the sponsorship application or should I wait until I receive a letter from CIC providing that we need to complete Biometrics?

Have they lost their PR status? You don't automatically lose PR status just because you don't meet the RO. If they are still PRs they will have renounce PR first or they aren't eligible for sponsorship.

Yes they renounced their PR voluntarily back in 2010

No issues then. There is no negative consequences if you were a PR before.
