No. Way too soon.

People from 2011 are still waiting.

OK, thanks. Wasnt sure how long it takes

I heard that people from 2014 have shorter processing time. Someone got PR from 2014 batch.
At what stage do they ask for criminal check and right of PR fee?

There are quite a few people from the 2014 batch that got PR. Here's the thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/when-your-parent-sponsorship-2014-application-reached-cpcm-update-here-t179188.2010.html

It is what it is. Seems like CIC is streamlining the PGP process. I'm a 2016 applicant and I got sponsorship approval in June and my parents got the medical/PCC request in July.

It goes to prove that the 5000 cap is working in reducing backlog. Give credit to Harper government for that. Now that the Liberal increased the cap to 10000, expect longer processing time for 2016 PGP due to more applications CIC can handle.

Not just the 5000 cap, but also they stopped PGP sponsorship entirely for 2 years. Unless they significantly increase staff to handle the 10K apps, for sure the backlog is going to grow again.

That's true. They have increased the budget for PGP applications and apparently streamlined the process to make it faster, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Hi,

My Father is in Canada since 2016 by Super visa. I got an invitation to sponsor him from Canada and CIC has accepted my application on November 2017.

when I checked status by online it says that, application has been received under permanent resident .

How long will it take to receive PR while he is in Canada.

1< IRCC is working on applications prior to January/14 so it is going to be over 3 years before his application is processed.
