I attained my PR status in Dec 2015 and was present in Canada May 2013 - Aug 2015 as a temporary worker. I understand that I have to present my income proof for meeting LICO + 30% for sponsoring my parents. For year 2013 and had income in USA (Jan 2013-May 2013).

Can I present US income tax return in addition to Canadian NOA as a proof of meeting this requirement?

CIC website only states NOA as a legitimate proof.

No, your American income cannot be used. If your 2013 Canadian income doesn't meet LICO, you can't apply in Jan 2017.

If you meet LICO for 2014, 2015 and 2016, you can apply in 2018.

This is your answer.

US income can't be used except in very specific circumstances (if you were living in Canada but working for a US company by daily commuting across border or tele-commuting), and this would also require CRA NOA to be done on that income. If you were simply living in US and working for a US company, that income does not qualify.

Sounds like you'll need to wait until January 2018.

Dont you need to show the last 3 years income when you apply? so if you apply in 2018, you have to show 2017,2016 and 2015?

You will not have 2017 tax return completed by January 2018. So you would require 3 previous years (2014, 2015, 2016) to apply in January 2018.

I'm a Canadian Permanent resident (PR), since Nov 2014. My mother got her multiple entry visitor visa to Canada for 10 years in 2015. It's her second visit to Canada since then. She is leaving back to India coming week (March 2nd 2017). Now i want her to stay with us for longer duration than 6 months. So which is the best option for her ? To apply super-visa from India or come back as a visitor to Canada and apply for Super-visa from/within Canada on her next visit ? Kindly advise.

I want to Sponsor her for PR but when i did a research I could found out that, i have to submit my three years, Notice of assessment (NOA). I got my NOA for 2014 but no income, as i didn't work that year. I have my 2015 NOA and soon receive my 2016 NOA. My income is good for the last two years. I mean i'm eligible to sponsor her based on my financial eligibility. Now when can i start her Permanent resident application ?

Is there anyway to submit the application in Canada or we have to do it from India itself ?

Thanks in advance for all your comments and advice.....
God bless !

With qualifying Canadian income in 2015, 2016 and 2017, you can possibly apply to sponsor her in 2019.

This assumes you can win a lottery spot in that year. Check the rules again closer to that time since they may change from today.

The app is always submitted to Mississauga office.
