Hi All,

My parents sponsorship (along with my sister as their dependent) was approved back in May 2012.

Passports for my parents and sister have been with New Delhi Visa Office for past 17 months with medicals been done for my parents and sister as well. We were asked to do DNA test to prove my sister's relationship with my parents. The DNA test has been performed and the result was positive as well.

However, due to personal circumstances, we would like to take off my sister from my parents application and process application just for my parents. In taking off my sister as their dependent from the application (at this stage), would it have any negative impact on their application process? Any advice and suggestion from the veterans will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all of the members.

Best Regards,
Sam

You may not have the option of removing your sister as a dependent. Although you can certainly flag her as non-accompanying.

How old is she?

Then you can remove her as a dependent.

Thanks a lot for this. We will have her removed as a dependent then.

Just make sure they understand that once your parents get PRs without your sister accompanying them (either if she's removed as dependent or just switched to non-accompanying dependent), she will never be able to be sponsored at a later date.

Thanks a lot. Can we just send an email to New Delhi Visa Office stating this or there is any formal process for that?
