Parent Sponsorship Application January 2014 Processing update

hello,
My husband applied for his mom's sponsorship in January 2014.She is presentlyin Canada on Super Visa from Pakistan since Sept 2012 which expires in Feb 2015.In June,2014 my husband received an email from CIC saying that his application has been accepted as one of the 5000 applications for the 2014 intake year.Since then there has been no correspondance with CIC.when we try to check the application status online by entering the file number we are told that our application hasn't started processing yet.

cic website doesn't give processing time for parent sponsorship application in Canada.So I want to have an idea how long this process will take.Any one else in the same boat as I?did anyone of you get PR visa for parents after Applying for sponsorship in Jan 2014?

No one who applied in 2014 has received their visa yet. It's far (far far far) too early. CIC is still working on applications back from 2007-2011. You should realistically expect it will take at least three years to process your mother-in-law's application.

I am on the same situation like yours. I applied for my parents in January 2014 and I am one of the first 5000 applicants. I check the e-status and it is showing that CIC received my application. I guess I should have to wait for couple of more years to get back from CIC. I am worried that my father's super visa will expire in 2016 with expire of his passport. Does anyone know if I will be able to apple to renew my father's super visa after his passport is renewed for another 5 years?
