Yes! Basically if they can get a flight then they're ok. People are being misinformed.

Yesterday this was not true. See the update in announcement subsequently. All copr/Visa holders can now travel acc to official government press release. Important, note the announcement says it will take several days to put the arrangements in place. Likely there will be a new order in council published next week.

So parents with COPR will be able to travel soon.

Definition of immediate family member

1
 In this Order, immediate family member, in respect of a person means

(a)  the spouse or common-law partner of the person;

(b)  a dependent child of the person or of the person’s spouse or common-law partner; or

(c) a dependent child of a dependent child referred to in paragraph (b)‍.
NO PARENTS NO GRANDPARENTS NO SISTERS NO BROTHERS etc.
So a person's spouse who have COPR and visa can land in canada ?

Doesn’t seem like your spouse has COPR yet. Families also needs to also decide whether it makes sense to risk getting exposed and whether you can find a flight.

Whether it makes sense for parents to travel is another conversation and people should really consider the risks even if they are excited about being together as soon as possible.

Members, Wanted to reach out to welcome your thoughts. Now that approved PR applicants are exempted to travel, am unable to decide whether my elderly mother should indeed travel on 1 April (landing deadline mid-May). Will India be safer to stay on - if so how long, right!

Yet to hear from CIC on my web form requesting extension.

Thanks for your time!
