I applied for PGP PR for my parents who live in India but unfortunately my father passed away while the application is still in progress. Here are my details and i am hoping someone can kindly comment or know someone who faced a similar situation. I am a first time poster here and my apologies if i missed anything or did not post all the relevant information.

PGP 2018
Principal Applicant: Mother
Spouse/dependent of the Principal Applicant: Father
Applied Sept 2018 and paid all the fees including right of permanent residence fee
Application Accepted December 2018
Request for Medicals May 2019
Medicals Submitted June 2019
Approved as a sponsor May 2019 and the letter says that the PR will be processed at CPC-Mississauga
Additional medical examinations requested by the physician for my father July 2019 and completed in August 2019
Request for additional documentation such as police clearance certificate, CV resume, proof of paid right of permanent residence fee (RPRF) Feb 2020 and submitted all of them in Feb 2020
My father passed away suddenly June 2020 and applied for death certificate in India that will take approx 2-3 weeks.
Notified CIC via email and also via web form about the sudden passing of my father in June 2020
I will submit the death certificate to CIC as soon as it is available

My mother is all by herself now in India and I would like to bring her over to Canada as soon as it is safe to do so given the pandemic. She does have a Super Visa valid until 2028.

I have 3 questions
What could potentially happen to the PR application ?
Can she come to Canada as a visitor based on Super Visa while the PR application is in progress ?
If she does come to Canada as a visitor and while she is here if the PR is approved, does she have to go back to India and reenter based on the PR approval?

Thank you!

Nothing will happen to the PR application. Your father's PR visa will in all likelihood be issued with your mother's.
The guidelines for visitors would indicate that your mother can visit - meets the criterion of immediate family member and is planning to stay for at least 15 days, and has a viable self isolation plan.
It is not likely that she will have to go back to India but she will likely have to enter Canada to complete the PR process. If her passport goes to Ottawa for final processing they may extend an in-Canada process, but if not she'll have to flagpole when that becomes possible.

1. Inform the processing office of the death of your father, the application will continue to be processed with your mother as the principal applicant.
2. Yes.
3. No, she could flag pole when US/Canada border re-opens.

Hi
I am in a similar situation. My parents PR file is in process at CPC Mississauga and my father passed away in January 2021. Now my mother is all alone. She does not have any visitor or super visa as its expired. I have updated IRCC via webforms. Please let me know if your mom's PR got approved and how long did it take after you updated them. Did they expedite the process? Anyone aware of this can respond to my query. PLEASE

They won't expedite the process. She should apply for a TRV or supervisa if she wants to visit you.

Thanks for your reply. The suervisa processing time is 1 year and the visitor visa cant be pocessed as biometerics for visitor visa are closed in India. So there is nothing that can be done immediately. Her visitor visa was granted in 2017 but only for 3 years instaed of 10 years as passport was expiring in 2020. Now she has a new passport. Do you think they can extend visitor visa

Hello
I sponsored my parents in the 2020 lottery for parents and grandparents program.
everything is completed.
they asked for the passports stamping and the passports are with the consulate for COPR.
Unfortunately, my dad who was the principal sponsor passed away.
I have already informed IRCC thru the web form and attached the death certificate within 5 days of his passing.
QUESTIONS:-
1. Would they change my mom to Principal applicant? If yes, how long does the process takes, since I applied online.
2. Is there anything else I need to do, like send a physical proof of death to CPC MISSISSAUGA?
3 My mother has a visitor visa, can she still come to Canada even if the PR process might take time now?
Thank you
