Now about the topic!!

I have flown Cathy Pacific a few years ago. It was fine. Nothing great nothing bad. These one off incidences happen with all airlines (especially with our PIA). I had a friend how left USA on a Thursday to be in Lahore for his wedding on a Monday. He arrived on Tuesday. So... horror stories all around.

I checked etihad and it wasnt available,

Hi RKazi and others,

Here is some info that might help. I checked with my friend who went to vancouver from lhr around march 2013.

He took a longer route i.e. lhr->dubai via emirates, dubai->london via emirates and london to vancouver via air canada. There was roughly an hour waiting time between each break and to land in places like dubai, london, frankfurt, you do not need a visa. That restriction only applies to US. Total time to reach Vacouver was around 24 hours. (Lhr to london, 10 hours - london to vancouver 10 hours approx, add some waiting time and net 24 hours).

He bought tickets quite late i.e. with little time in advance, so it costed him a total of 1300 CAD. But he says if done a little ahead in time, it can easily be bought for CAD 900.

What he recommends is Lhr (or Khi) to Toronto (14 hrs) (via PIA) and toronto to vancouver (6 hrs) (via some local canadian carrier)

Hoping that helps.

Since I am waiting for application, got nothing else to kill time :D

So while I was looking for flights the number one concern that I have is FOOD. Its a long flight and I want food to be Halal. So thats why I started looking Emirates, etihad, PIA. I never heard of CATHAY PACIFIC so forgive my ignorance. After reading the thread, it seems like its Hong Kong base airline and many students travel on it because its cheaper. So my basic question is do they serve Halal food?

People would say what a stupid question he is asking but here it is.

The world has grown now. This aint 80's now.

With your ticket its always mentioned as ' MOM ' or some flights as " MM " .. All it means HALAL MUSLIM FOOD.

and when u fly with the airlines.. the Steward would give ur meal with specific Note saying " HALAL ". All Specially for Muslims. :)

But I haven't traveled in ma life, ever :D.

The only reason I didn't know about CATHAY PACIFIC is because they only operate in Karachi I guess, couldn't find Lahore which I need :D

i was thinking to go in PIA first but my parents said me that if u will go in PIA then u will have to book a flight from toronto to Vancouver and it will cost u more
,,,
I checked and yes it was costing me about 1.5 lac min so I thoguht to buy a cheaper and good ticket and without the hassle of booking tickets in two separate airlines by own self,,
so picked Cathay Pacific and am very much happy with my decision

My bro also went in cathay pacific in 2011 from khi to vancouver ,, he said its okay
and u should also come by this
