I did it with a consultant because I wasn't sure how to present my financial documents. Penty of people do it without it though, it's relatively straight forward. You can look it up on the government of Canada website.

I got asked for a medical yesterday, which apparently means you're almost certainly approved according to a lot of people on the forums. I haven't gotten my visa yet though, I know a few others who got theirs approved from Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Ireland. There processing Time for Pakistan is much longer than most other countries

I didn't pay upfront. My Dad's Bank statement was over a year old, I have heard that it should be around 4 months matured, but I know a kid who got a visa with funds in his bank statement for just 2 months so it can be less. You should attach an employment letter from your parents if you can, my consultant told me an employment letter with a good salary will almost certainly clear you on this financial side.
What university are you planning to apply to BTW?
I applied into very low tuition fee universities in Canada .
One is University of Prince Edward Island: yearly tuition is 15,000 CAD
The other one is : mamorial university of newfoundland : yearly tuition is 13000 CAD
However here in the Netherlands, i am at Delft University of Technology where i paid 21,200 euros for a year . I am planning to attach my current university financial letter to demonstrate my parents affordability.
Furthermore , both of my elder brothers studies from the university of Manchester from the year 2014-2017 where the yearly tuition was 36,000 british pounds and they did come back after their graduation. This might be a plus point to my application?
I hope i do well on convincing the case officer .
Are you applying for next September or this January? University of Manitoba is around $14k~, is connected to the rest of Canada and in a bigger city. Both of the universities you mentioned are separated from the rest of the country, culturally and physically. You'll need to take a flight to go anywhere else in Canada. I didn't apply to umanitoba but I definitely would have if I were to apply again.
OH and definitely mention that both of your brothers studied at University of Manchester, with some proof if you can. That should definitely help your chances.
I wouldn't worry too much if I was you, you probably will get the visa just like your brother's.

Actually i have not prepared bank statements yet so i would avoid taking a risk and would lodge my visa for may intake .

Usually i dont get combined tuition fee if they mention it as per credit hour fee etc
I just checked their tuition fee . Its 17500 annual fee .

The person who applied from Ireland, what was his status in Ireland? Student?
How much time did they take to process his visa ?
I applied to McGill, University of Victoria and University of Saskatchewan (I have some family in that city).
Got rejected from McGill and decided to go to University of Saskatchewan as a safety. I might try transferring to McGill if my GPA is high enough.
I only checked for Arts because I am doing Economics, didn't realise uni of Manitoba was more expensive for Science students. Sorry.
The girl from Ireland was a permanent resident there (her family moved there like 3 years prior) so the situation was a little different than yours. I don't remember exactly how long it took, but it was within a month.

I have a question. So if you try transferring the university, would you have to repeat one whole year again or would they consider that time period as well ?
You'll get credits transfered from your current university. I'll only have to do 3 years. You probably will get credits transferred from your university in Netherlands too.
