Pakistani Students applying for January 2019 intake gather here!

hi all,
I received my entry visa to Canada and planning to enter on 10th January as an exchange student. The letter which I received states that I would be receiving my study permit at the airport.

My question is if I show the immigration officer an admission in a full time program for one year, will I be granted one year study permit or it will still be a 3/4 months study permit which I requested initially.

Salaam, as far as I know you will only receive the visa you requested prior to applying e.g: if you applied for 6 months you will get 6 months.
If you need extension or proper study permit you will need to apply for study permit again from your country of nationality.
Better check from a professional consultant too.

I gave my biometrics today. And applied through consultant so let’s see maybe in the upcoming few days it will change the status.

@qasim95 today I saw on a Facebook thread that a person got student visa approved.
So maybe chances are improving IA.

Yes he got passport submit request and would probably get the passport back around December I think.

I have applied as well for Jan intake 2019. Done with biometric on 12th of September. I went through the upfront medical and applied through consultant. I don't understand how to check status of application as I have Gckey account. Please help me in this regard.

Do u applied paper based or online ? if u have applied paper based then u have to link your application to ur gc key .

No I applied online. Actually my brother applied from Canada through consultant.

i have seen a guy who gets rejected in 8 days , he applied in last week of september. lets see what will be the outcome for us .

No only consultant has. I made new gckey. Now I understand the point. BTW He informed us that file is in process.

What was the reason behind rejection? After how many weeks it is confirmed that you'll get the visa? Any projections?

i reckon it was purpose of visit , i think most of the rejections were made within the first four weeks. btw confirmation of visa will only be determined by requested medical call.
