Pakistani Passport expired after getting PR and initial landing

Hi,

My passport is expiring and want to renew it. I am already a PR and now outside canada. If I renew my passport, do I need to update anyone so there will be no issues while landing back to Canada? Any link reference from their official site regarding that?

I think you need to get your new passport stamped with immigration visa?

you may need to send both old and new passports to canadian embassy in your country, they will put cancel stamp on old passport visa
and will stamp visa on new passport

The visa is for the initial landing. After you are a permanent resident, you do not need a visa to re-enter.

You will need a new passport to travel but you should always carry both passports with you at all times while travelling. In your case since you mentioned that you already are a PR which means that your Single Entry Immigrant Visa is now VOID. So you donot need another void visa on a new passport. All you need is your new valid Passport and PR card.
