Pakistani Applicants waiting for PPR (Stage 1 or 2 letters) from CHC London

My application is of Economic Class (Investor), but I just came here to find out how much time is it taking for PPR to come after medicals in Islamabad. My file is in being processed in London.

I (along with my dependants) did our medical exams in Oct 2012. Nothing came or happened in 2013. In March 2014, we got forms (via email) to do medical exams again. After giving that in May 2014, only I got a letter (from Health Branch in CIC Delhi) to do extra medical tests, such as ECG, within 90 days. On 24th June, 2014, I did my ECG and submitted my report to DMP in IOM Lahore. No receipts were given as an acknowledgement.

How much time are they taking for PPR after medical exams?


(the last line on my ECAS is about my file being transferred from Islamabad to London in 2011. No updates after that.)

Is it possible to change the address for PR which i give at the time of landing and how?

Hello every body. I am construction manager in karachi. I am preparing to lodge my application in the first week of july.
For this purpose I have sent my education documents to WES but it is still in processing.
Can I apply by using the reference letter of WES, I am bit scared as it is mentioned on their website that after may 2013 they will not accept applications without ECA report. - NO , wait for WES report - Application will be rejected

My spouse birth place( name of two nearest towns) is different on birth certificate and passport, will this cause any problem during processing. - Get Birth Certificate corrected , town / union council staff will easily do this after getting ADJUSTMENT , or get new birth certificate , it will be a big issue at Visa Office level

I am making bank drat, is their any expiry date problem to be considered while making draft. - Expiry is 06 months from date of issuance , wait for WES report , get your wifes birth certificate corrected and then proceed

Inform this to immigration staff at Airport , they will guide you the entire procedure for this

2. Any experience with Studio6 or safehomestay feedback please

I would not advise this. If you tell CBSA officer that you plan to change your address for PR card delivery, he/she will not enter the PR card information in the system (i.e. PR card processing will not start till an address is entered in the system).

Just change your address online once you have it: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp#canada

2. Any experience with Studio6 or safehomestay feedback please - NO

Salam All: I've received PPR-2 alhamdolillah, will be sending out my passports on Monday . Had couple of concerns:

• With the ongoing situation with Airlines, I'm having doubts about booking any other than PIA . Anyone else thinking the same? Whats the price difference like and other dis/advantage?
• Also, I checked about Bank Draft from Wall Street and they are asking for Rs.2000 and Rs.2 above normal exchange rate. That sounds exorbitant to me . Anyone know of a better option or currency dealer? Would it make sense to open a foreign currency account just for getting draft made and then close it ;D

By the Grace of God, received my PPR2 today (within just 3 days of PPR1).
My VO is MCH. Until 5th june (when i suddenly received my remedicals), I had not even bothered about my immigration case for several months as my case was very old and super delayed.
I did medicals on 10th june which were submitted on 17th june.
He/She is processing my case superfast because I wrote him/her after remedical request that if I dont get visa within summer, i will not be able to move this year since my kids are in high school and I cannot move in middle of the year.

I have to say, canadians do have a generous heart. I guess thats why they have opened their doors to rest of the world.

Dont take the risk to take only 5000$ if you are with family members you must take 8000 to 9000 in cash. As in my case my DD took almost 35 days to encashed, so you need funds for initial settlement in the first month. my suggestion is to take up to 9000$. Regards

I opened bank account in TD bank and they said it will take 5 days only to credit DD...

People getting DDs from Standard Chartered Pakistan are facing this problem. Otherwise it is not normal for the FDD clearance to go over a day above the bank's hold period.
