What is the difference between London Visa office Reply :-

1. Backgroud checks are still on-going on your application. (after MR on Jan 10, 2014 when I raised case specific inquiry, received reply on Jan 23, 2014)

2. Your file is currently awaiting review by an immigration officer. (Received reply yesterday - Apr 08, 2014)

I am confused and any help from seniors will be appreciated.

Thanks & Warm regards

Thank you Sir.My pleasure. :)

So how did you carry all the proof of funds?
Did you take all cash or mixed it up?
And did they check your money at the airport in Pakistan?

It means that your case has been put up to the visa officer for final review and approval. you will shortly receive PPR-1 and keep checking your mail box/post box (what ever you have opted for communications)

Guys,By God's grace we landed Toronto airport yesterday through PIA.It was not busy at the immigration queue after a long walk from getting off the plane. We the family of Four reached at the visitors counter where after 5-10 mins wait a CBA officer called us on our turn and asked for passports and COPR also she said how much money are we taking with us and then she wrote that on our landing card. After stamping the passport she directed us to the immigration counter where a cheerful fellow was waiting for us.he just asked us our passports and COPR and the address in Canada where we are going. We provided him the address(my cousin who lives in toronto). He told us to take seat while he completes paper work. After 15 mins he called us on the same counter and took the signature and gave one copy each of COPR back and finally saying "Welcome to Canada now you are the permanent residents of Canada, you have to spend 2 out of 5 years to maintain ur PR status".He goes on to say," if u want u can get ur SIN from the counter further down on ur left, otherwise u can get it from elsewhere"(cant remember exact words he used). We got the SIN from the cabin where officer was pointing us to go.It took another 15 mins to get SIN.Got few leaflets and other literature just before comming out of the immigration premises.Got the porter and got the luggage on the way out to outside the airport where my cousin was waiting to take us home.
So that was it.just the normal questions no need to worry. If anyone needs to ask something relating this u r welcome. All the best :)

Congrats Zubair.

Canvis2006,dear i took all cash around C $ 17000.Its up to you how u feel convenient.just tick the option yes on landing card where it says carrying 10000 or more.So at the 1st point of contact at immigration when u hand over ur passports and other dox along with landing card if asked, just tell them the amount u r carying withn u.They didnot ask me in which shape i have the funds.

Guys just completing the other documents.opened a bank account yesterday in TD and got the Sim Card(chatr). Both these are very expensive.depending on ur use.i got everyday day account, where u have to maintainC$ 2500 otherwise u will be charged a dollar on each transaction. Also there is restrictions on monthly number of transactions which is 25 per month.again if u go over 25 u will be charged C $ 2 on each transactions.I didnt go any other bank so not sure about others. But good thing is its a good bank account to have in TD i suppose.they give me the debit card straight away in 5mins.
As i mentioned buying a sim card is not cheap either first up i paid 42.50 including activation charges and getting the credit.each month afterwords u can pay just $ 20 for the usage.the price varies as if u just want to call within ontario zone(i live in mississagua ON) u will pay $ 20,if u want to call in Ontario province u pay $ 25 every month, but its unlimited usage.
I suggest u to do ur home work b4 coming here.otherwise u might end up paying too much for certain things.
Good Luck.

Guys weather here in Toronto is awesome from last couple of days(Landed on 8th april).sunny days.hitting 15c and above.these couple of months best time to come canada as far weather is concerned,i think.

Should we need to carry expired passport with us as visa stamped on new passports ?

Sir

While travelling , Old passports are mandatory to be carried with , as it could be required by any immigration officer.

Stay Blessed

No msaeed expired passports are nothing but trash so there is no need to carry them.
Only valid passports with valid visas along with copr are required.
