Hi,

Need not to worry. It's mentioned in CIC manual that in such scenario's if the application has been transferred to wrong VO as declared by the applicant (Islamabad) in your case. Islamabad Vo will transfer your file to LVO.

You might face some delays within your processing but not the rejection.

God Bless.

Hi,
I am really thankful for your brisk guidance on subject

I am feeling relieved now.
Best regards

May GOD bless you

Dear Friends,

ALHAMDO LILAH Today I got my passports after visa stamps exactly after one week. I am thankful to each one of you who is maintaining this forum and helping out each other. I am planning to land in canada in end May and return after 10 days. I will then again go next year to settle permanently.

In US immigration, it is like that a person is asked to return in 6 months after exit from USA. Can any one update me if there is any such requirement in canada. I have heard that Canada has no such requirement and only asks to complete 3 years stay in 5 years to get nationality. Plz share any information that you have.

Regards,

Any body would share experience after how long Canadian address appears on ECAS after getting visa. My visa was issued on 10th Feburary 2014 but no Canadian address yet on ECAS.

My visa has been stamped but ecas status still shows 'in process' when it would change into decision made. Plz share when does it change?

Congratulations on achieving this milestone.

As per the current legislation what you say is correct about residency requirement, however there is already a bill in parliament called "Strengthening Canadian Citizenship Act" that will be changing these requirements soon.

For more information about this act, have a look at this comparative view: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2014/2014-02-06e.asp

congradulations, dont worry abt status change, normally it should be prior to visa stamping but rarely after stamping

Dear Friend,

Thanks for sharing such a latest information. What are the chances of this bill being passed without any change? It can make the citizenship a bit longer and stiff.

Thanks and Kind Regards,

Congratulations and good luck. There is no such requirement to enter within a specified time after exit from the Canada. However, they are getting tougher if you come back without getting a PR Card and relying on someone to post it for you. if it is caught in mail /courier it could be a real concern and all your effort may be wasted. You could apply for a urgent processing of your PR card and stay a bit longer over there to avoid risk.

Thanks and Kind Regards,

General opinion in Canada is that the bill is not really being challenged, hence will most likely pass as is.

Dear Rizmayo,

Thanks for the prompt response. Do you think that the said change in policies for citizenship would affect those who have got PR before law enactment or not? If not, then may be most of us can attempt to enter canada before the new law is implemented.

Regards,

Still waiting for PPR. I applied for notes on March 10, 2014. Praying for some good news this time on my notes.

May Allah help us all in this tough time of life.

Regards,

Since having a PR is not an entitlement of citizenship, this act will apply to everyone who has not filled the application for citizenship (after completing residency requirements) before the date the new act comes into effect. However if the act (the final passed version) itself mentions it will not apply to already landed residents then we will be safe.
