Pakistani Applicants waiting for PPR (Stage 1 or 2 letters) from CHC London

Is IOM Lahore offering any Orientation session for new Immigrants in Lahore? If Yes how to get the appointment. Help would appreciated.

Dear Seniors

I have heard from couple of new immigrants that now it is necessary to stay in Canada till the PR is not issued, because there have been certain instances where the Immigration Office required the Applicants to personally come and collect the PR Cards?

Is there any change in the law/act which requires the applicant to personally come and collect PR cards?

in some cases, pr application is not complete, theefore vo may ask to visit agin or re-submitt the application. if u have any represantative threr then no issues.

Alhamdullilah by the Grace of Almighty Allah, I got my PPR1.
I would also like to thank all forum members for their support.
Can anyone advise about next orientation session by IOM in Karachi? I have already emailed them for booking me in but haven't attached PHEP letter, is it mandatory to attach?

PR application package not complete, how to know the application submitted is complete in all respects? Secondly is PR package to be filed / completed by the Applicant. I thought it was the Immigration Officer at the Airport responsible for completing the Immigration formalities and documents.?

Secondly Nekeol It would be of a great help, if you could share a draft list of items to carry and list of goods to follow to be submitted at the time of landing to the custom authorities.

In June 2013 I inquired about my my application status from LVO, they stated that:

“Background checks are outstanding and these may take several months to complete. We will advise further when in a position to do so”.

I sent another email and asked from LVO that, You mean background checks are not yet initiated? Or You are awaiting the results of routine background enquiries? when I can expect my application to move forward to the next step? They replied that:

They are in process. Each case is unique and it is not possible to provide time frame estimates as you request.

And my Pakistani police certificate is expiring on 03 September 2013, should I apply for new one?

I think they initiated background checks in May 2013

Guys if you are concerned about the delays and the strike - perhaps you may want to give momentum to our voice. I personally think that so far Canadian media has not really touched the plight of many of us who might be in a limbo cuz of this strike. Yes... I have seen people getting PPR in 15 days what to talk of 2 months.... Our friend Cock&Bull got it in 15 days.... Anyhow I have generally seen many getting PPR within 3 months....
