Today is a big day for me... but to be very honest I am not that much happy as i was expecting to be...and the reason behind is i was waiting for it with few of my friends like.. Sarfarosh, KhiPak, Wali etc... we all were in a same boat and i was thinking that our cases will move forward together... but its not like this... anyways.. I pray that all those (including me) waiting for medical, ppr1, ppr2, visas.. will get it soon coz i deeply understand that this waiting period kills...

Receive an email for submission of Landing Fee in May 2013 which is done.

Now how long it take for next step. whats the expectation for rest of the process.

kindly tell me will i renew it now or wait for the PRI request.. i also heard that now a days Passport office are renewing the Passport with out any fee.. they will just stamp it and extend the date.. is there any body who renewed the passport and sent it to the VO London or Islamabad..

I was in some similar situation My spouse passport was going to expire in Oct 2013. I got PPR (1&2) both together as i am saudi resident. I asked VO London they gave me below reply please have a look might be helpful for you as well

"If visas are issued on current passports all expiry dates will be 15 October 2013 due to expiry of your spouse's passport.

If you intend to all travel in July 2103, it would not matter, but your spouse would have to use the old passport which contains the issued visa. If she obtains a new passport before going to Canada, all visas then become invalid.

We can allow additional time to submit passports if required.

Thanks for the update.
As per attached passport specification.
"For your visas to have maximum validity, all passports should be valid for at least 12 months from the date of your medical examinations"
My spouse passport is going to expire on 15th Oct 2013 my medical date was 19th Feb 2013. Is this requirement is only for maximum visa validity or passport must be valid for 12 months.
I already applied the passport for her but due to situation in Pakistan passports will take some time and LVO gave me 30 days to submit the passport
Please guide me should I send the same as I am intended to travel in July 2013.

Canada Govt dont accept the manual stamp of passport extension as during the scan dates are not changing. Better to apply the passport new one on immediate basis it will not take too much time now days most probably it will come in 2 weeks

we are planning after Eid.. somebody told me that you can use your current passport (expire in Feb 14) because there, your passport will be renewed in Dollar which is expensive..so renew it now before PPR1 stag and send them renewed copy..
