Pakistani Applicants waiting for PPR (Stage 1 or 2 letters) from CHC London

We have gone through medicals on 21-Dec-2012 and LVO has received our medical results. Now-a-days, we are awaiting PPR 1. However, our passports are going to expire on 11-Sep-2013.

I seek your opinion on whether we should renew our passports or not at this stage?

I anticipate a potential problem if we don't renew our passports now ---- If we are lucky enough & get visa in next three/four months then we will be left with very short time to complete the landing formalities.

On the other hand, I am not sure if update of renewed passports to LVO will result any delay to application process or not.

Would you please comment and suggest better course of action?

IMHO....there is no six months validity requirement by Visa Office........u must have valid passport irrespective of which month it is expiring........u must land before medical expiry+passport expiry......its upto applicant how he manages his landing keeping in view his/her passport expiry........

Alhamdulilah received my visa stamped passport back with COPR today 02-Mar-2013. Inshallah will land in Toronto on 12-March.

Dear Friends

I have come to know that for renting a house / Apt in GTA following is required please confirm

1. Bank Statement -- can be managed !
2. Job letter --- for new immigrant this difficult because before job i want rent apt first thing after I land ? can i rented house/apt without this ?

Dear , its written in PPR-1 request under passport specification - "For your visas to have maximum validity, all passports should be valid for at least 12 months from the date
of your medical examinations" - so i would say better to renew instead of landing in emergency sitution.

Agreed........if someone has delayed plan of landing then he/she must have longer validity of passports from medicals date.....
if someone like me have plan to land within 1 month after issuance of VISA then i have no need of renewation of passport as my Medical done is in NOV-12 and expiry of passport is in NOV-13........so as soon as i get Visa i will land within next 1 month..

1- How long does it take to receive PPR1?
2- Is the interview part waived?

I emailed today to my Visa Officer for medical reports receipt confirmation & for current application status update. He/She replied within an hour with,

- Confirmation of medical examination reports receipt

- Asked for landing fee submission within 60 days

Since there are no words in email about Background checks & passport request, should we assume B/G checks completion & ppr request as soon as they encash landing fee draft?

Nothing can be said with surity. It seems you are on track and would receive something soon, but how soon, no one knows. My D/D was encashed in december 2012 and medical results received confirmation was mid feburary 2013. Iam still waiting

Well, had u made DD from Pakistan? If so, from where?

We had had our DDs for immi fees & newborn addition from Wallstreet exchange. They make DD from Soneri bank who never confirms encashment of DDs even after many requests

This time I'm looking for better alternative.

I also made DD from there. But the good thing is that it always gets en-cashed without any problem.
