Brother you are so right.. i am with you on every single point.. i applied in feb 2009 n we were not able to do anything futuristic in last 3 years.. no planning at all.. living in a joint family system, moved from my old residence in august 2009 (though never wanted to leave my place), thinking probably our case will be finalized within an year, why not live with other family members in the meantime. though the new place was too far from our job etc.. nothing happened in last 2 years, when we finally thought of getting back to our old residence, my MR came..
then again there was silence for 4 months! frustrated.. we almost moved back, n very next day we got our PPR-1 :/ (Thnks to God)
all the expenses, hard times we faced, for nothing..
So my brother.. i can understand what you feel.. even i got angry too, by reading their standard set of instructions which came with PPR-1; "Not to sale any property n stuff unless you got the visa etc.."
I hope, now our cases will go through smoothly.. you have done your Medicals too, I hope you may get the happiness of PPR-1 soon, inshahAllah..

I can soooooooo relate to you..me n my hubby are in the same situation. we are done with our medicals in April 2012 now just waiting for PPR request...hubby wants to switch job..I want to change my sons school.....many other things are pending..bt we cant do anything..its like literally we r in the middle of nowhere! :( I dont know whether to b Happy or to be sad! Allah behter karey for all of us!

Once medicals are done, we stand a good chance of getting PR within next 6 months, it happens in most of the cases. Very few or negligible cases are there rejected after medicals. Chances of delay are there but we can hope to reach there by next summer.
Now plan accordingly. While planning for anything we are not sure what will happen as we always plan for the future, which is unseen. Before the medicals we were in great uncertainity, but now you can assume that we are 90% through (inshAllah) and will be there by the validity of medicals.

Hope for the best and be optimistic

Dear All,

Follwoing reply i got from LVO:

"Your file still has not yet been forwarded to me - it is currently in our Cost Recovery Section which has a large backlog of files awaiting action. When it is, we will issue medical instructions for your child as soon as we are able to."

It's been a month since I am waiting MR of my newly added child.

Please advise how long it will take to clear my file from Cost Recovery section and how long it will take VO to send MR.

Everybody on this forum has similar reasons, intentions and expectations :D because the grass is always green on the other side (but in Pakistan all the grass is eaten by the donkeys sitting in the parliament) so we need to move on

Dear Friends,
AOA
I would like the members of below group share thier thoughts / preference for opting the cities they intend to land in Canada. (Calgary & Toronto)
1)Is this bcoz they have some relatives thier and they feel it would help them adjust and acclimatize easily?
2) Is it bcoz of the fact that they feel that living expenses are relatively on lower side, like house rentals and communting expenses etc?
3) Most importantly is there any thought behind the intended destination based on relatively better chances of getting job early in the field of thier interest / aligned with thier academic background or professional experience?
4) Do they feel calgary or toronto being more suitable for professionals from IT / Accountants etc?
Would really appreciate if all members shed some light on above queries breifly.
Many thanks!
HAK
In my case its purely due to few close relatives already living there and I assume that would be helpful in settllng down

Unfortunately not the same case for me as far as relatives are concerned. Have to start it all over again and let me and my family settle down their as well. May ALLAH help us all.

Relatives and friends will be helpful not only for setteling down, but even afterwards we need someone to meet as a close relationship to maintain our culture and norms.
And please look for a place where masjids are available, we should make it a priority.

dear imran01: in my view your PPR2 should come, this delay is not good from CHC london office, when your medical are going to expire
