Pakistan Spouse Case - Fees - Photo

I have two urgent questions..

1) Do I have to get attested photos for spouse in sponsoring case? and who can attest it?

2) What institute(Bank and its address) do I have to go to pay the Fees for sponsoring spouse, in Pakistan? (I live in Hyderabad, Pakistan), and in what currency?

Photos do not need to be attested.
Use online method to pay by Credit Card this is easy and simple way.

as for as Fees; I don't have credit card.. they are expired, and am living in Pakistan,

I need any Pakistani Bank where I can pay my fees, which bank and city, and in what format (Pakistani currency or Canadian dollars?

If your Friend have a Credit Card he can Pay on your Behalf.
You can not pay fee using Bank from Outside Canada for Spousal Sponsorship.

There are two ways you can pay:

(1)online (preferred option) or
(2)at a financial institution in Canada.

what if a Canadian Citizen living exclusively outside Canada? how can he/she pay the fees other than those mention by CIC; there must be a way? I don't have valid Credit Card, I have no one who can pay for it... mine Credit Cards are all expired,, and I am not living in Canada.. there must be a way?...

If a Canadian citizen is living exclusively outside of Canada then paying the fee should be least of their worries as sponsor living exclusively outside of Canada has no reason to apply for spousal sponsorship.
Since in order to be eligible as an applicant, the sponsor has to show intent/proof of living in Canada.

P.S: there's no other way to pay the fee.

what proof do I have to show to the CIC.. I even paid my all year's of tax-return. I was in Canada last year as well. I have enough intent/proof to show them. Its not the problem to show them the "intent/proof", the problem lies in paying the fees...I bet there must be a way.. I can tell you that.. one can borrow immigration loan.. but I don't want go into it, as I do have enough cash to pay my sponsorship complete fees.. the matter remains, "how do I have to pay my fees for sponsorship from within Pakistan(being Canadian Citizen Living Exclusively Outside Canada). Senior Member can help... I can not leave my family alone; that's for sure, I just can not.. I can get a Pakistani Bank Credit Card, I don't know how to pay from it, as Pakistani Credit Cards have Pakistani Rupees, while I have to pay in Canadian Dollars; will ask this question to Banks/Institutions.. well again.. any senior member can advice me..

How long have you been living outside Canada? When your file will be in process stage they will ask you to give explanation whether you intend to come back and live in Canada.
As far as your fee is concerned, you can try contacting vfs global http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/Pakistan/contactus.html

I'm sure the OP has figured out what and how to answer the questions in the forms where she needs to answer about her intent on returning back to Canada.
Why can we not leave our noses out of her personal story and help her out??? Come on people!!


If there really is no other way of paying the fee, can you ask someone in your family or friends to pay your fee for you? And you can return the money to them either cash or money transfer, etc.

Some people do have foreign currency accounts and the credit cards used by them are globally accepted. Find a trustworthy person who works in bank or knows some one working in bank. If you succeed in finding a reliable person, it will not be a big task; though you may have to pay some extra SERVICE charges.

The application has to go to CPC-Mississauga.
Perhaps a certified chq addressed to "Receiver General for Canada"

Sort of same as how skilled worker class applicants are paying their fees to CIO Sydney

Step 3. Pay the Fees

under Payment method options

Fee payment for Canadian sponsors residing outside of Canada

Canadian citizens living abroad may submit a payment via bank draft or money order. However,
in order to process your application, your fee payment must meet the following criteria:

• be payable to the Receiver General for Canada;
• be in Canadian funds
• be cashable through a Canadian financial institution;
• clearly indicate name, street address and account number of the financial institution in
Canada where it may be cashed.
Note: Do not provide a post office box as an address

Also read the Checklist IMM 5491 on the 1st Page, in the 1st Section, Sponsor, tag # 4,

Copy 2 of your Receipt (IMM 5401) stamped by the financial institution where you pay the fees or, if you are a Canadian Citizen and are residing abroad, an international bank draft or money order, in accordance with the instructions given in the Guide to sponsorship, or if you are paying using the Internet , copy 2 properly completed of the Receipt you print from our website.


Thanks all, though I have a debit card which is also a visa card, so its also an easy option too, but I didn't want to use the money I have in that account. So I have another option that I can deposit money in it and can use my account.

Just to remind.. there are ways, but if someone doesn't know the complete knowledge of ways.. they must not say "these are the only options" .. that's what it hurts.. "Half Knowledge is Dangerous"
