my VO is also RIH....he replied my CSQ in 3 days max.

as far as background checks is concerned i think his/her time period take longer time as compared to others.

My IO is also RIH; I am getting background check reply from December 2009 after Provisional acceptance letter. On 13 June 2012 I sent a FAX to CSIS and asked them about my background status. Received letter from CSIS dated 17th July 20, 2012 and results are unbelievable. Here is reply:

CSIS received a screening request from CIC on October 13, 2011 concerning your permanent residence application. The services subsequently completed review and sent its advice to the appropriate department on January 4, 2012.

I sent a query to CIC again and still waiting for reply.

Can you tell us that how one can know that the file has been sent to CSIS for checks? Does the CAIPS shows this or it's from the enquiry to the VO

Few months back I asked CIC that give me reason for such a long delay and background checks. They replied that their headquarter is interested in my previous Government job. Then i wait for two more months and sent two more queries but same answer, at last I sent fax to CSIS. CSIS is the agency who handle all background checks out side Canada and work with Canadian border security agencies.

If your getting same answer from long time (at least one year) then you can send fax to CSIS, its their responsibility to send you case status with in one month.

I guess u r right. He has asked from me the original degrees and transcripts (although i submitted original transcripts in sealed envelopes), PCCs and other docs. Did he ask ur educational docs? if yes, did u send it sealed in university envelopes etc. Plz share.

Call them 1st on 1 613 993 9620 and ask that you want to know security background status. They will give you FAX number 1 613 231 0672. Send FAX with you Name and File number then wait for about 35 days as US & Canada postal service is very slow.
