Paid already consultant but didnt start yet

Hey guys i paid already first deposit for a consultant but now people are telling me that is not needed,was working on my papers and exams to create the express entry profile ,so what would you do if you were in my place,should i continue with him or continue on my own,keep in mind i will have to pay and extra 2500 dollars if i plan to continue
 
do not pay any consultant............this esteemed forum will help u with everything, u r the best consultant for ur self.

So, basically: If you are confident you can do it yourself, do it and write off the deposit. If you'd rather have professional hand-holding or don't have the time to read up on every single detail of your application, go ahead with the consultant.

Everyone on this forum will basically tell you that you can do it yourself (which is obviously true), but keep in mind that the selection of people on this forum is a biased sample because it tends to attract the people who like to take charge and do the application themselves.

There are many good reasons why you might still want to go with the consultant, so do what you feel comfortable with, and not what everyone tells you to do.

I am really hesitated and not sure what to do,i mean my case is straight forward and when i initialy paid was at a time where i didnt discover the forum,i am not sure if filling my application is a straight forward case or if am better of hiring a consultant,and is it the only phase where i will need a consultant or there are tricky stages afterwards?and how much is the application fees anyways?thanks

Is it a difficult task to complete my express entry profile on my own?
 
Consultants (india) dont care much after getting their money. Never thrust them. This is a long process, they are likely to miss something during the entire process.

It this sounds daunting to you, maybe you should stick with the consultant (provided you did your research and found a good one).

Ok if i do my search and and reading is it a hard task to do the application?is it tricky?? Also is there any hard stages other than creating the profile where a consultant might proof beneficial? Thanks

Creating the profile is fairly straightforward. It gets a bit trickier when you receive an ITA and complete your full application. But nothing a reasonably intelligent person can't manage.

Instead of pondering this forever, why don't you just go ahead and start an EE profile now? It is free, so there is no cost to giving it a try. If you decide it's too hard, you can still go with the consultant.

An immigration consultant comes in handy if

- you don't have time
- you are afraid you might miss something

I got an application returned to me in 2014 for missing documents, which was basically a rejection because I received the returned package in 2015 so my chances of re-sending a complete application was gone, simply because 2014 applications were closed on December 31, 2014.

In 2015, my ONIP (Ontario provincial nomination) application was also returned to me for being incomplete. This time I was lucky enough because Ontario used a courier service so the package arrived only in 3 days, giving me lots of headroom to complete and re-send the application.

I fumbled the federal application after ITA too. Thankfully, there is this forum and something called CSE, which granted me the chance to set my application right.

I am a reasonably intelligent person. The problem wasn't that I was an idiot. I just happen to operate my own business which requires extreme levels of attention. It drains all my energy at the end of the day. Despite I checked everything like 10 times, I was still able to miss small things. Small things have very big consequences in this kind of stuff.

So my point is, there is no shame or no wrong in getting some consultancy service. Actually, if I had to do it all over again, I would use one.

Consultants not doing their jobs properly is another matter. You just need to find one who will.

Immigration consultants (Good ones) are always handy. They do guide you, update you time to time about proceedings and other stuff happening.

2500$ is a big amount. If services are according to the cost you are paying, then you should go ahead and start off with the process.
Ask them, talk to them about previous successful clients they have helped in immigrating. Find them and talk to them (It will give you a background about the type of consultation/behaviour they have towards clients) etc.

Else, it is easy to do yourself. Most of the things are written in the guide. You just need to spend sometime reading and you are good.
 
The consultant himself is very good but if he is not needed i would rather save the rest of the money that will have to pay,as far as i read creating the profile is free but i dont have all my papers or results ready yet,i read abt the processing fees but not really sure which category is it and hoe much is the exact figures.thanks
