Dear All,

My PP is submitted to PHEP section of CHC London, UK. Are they also on strike?

Coz I dont think under any circumstances, PPs can withhold for very long in a third country.

Can someone enlighten me,

Natasha, do u think that writting email will solve our problem.... I doubt. As he may not even read our emails & delete.
I think, working out publically, networking or using media will only help. As the name & reputation of Canada is already affected. however nobody there is listening to us as we are all writting or communicating with them in isolation.
Writing mail to tb plus tony n infusing in their minds that people think australia a better option, (people including not only those who are going to apply but even us) will sure infuse the seed in their minds that their system is not just when compared to another country or even when compared to how should any immigration body act, n its not the sole responsibility of immigration body because its tb who has appointed this body n who is benefiting out of this. As far se deleting or ignoring of mail is concerned, this is not a private inbox, mails to tb are tracked n can not b deleted by a single person on will. They may decide to ignore, but that cant fail to give them the idea of the real picture that applications to canada are dropping. It may make no difference to pafso, but tb is affected by this. In addition, even if we think this won't help, the other option we have is just wait n watch. I m sure most of us prefer that, but some will for sure at least try to do something about it. Other options like media help for sure, but they are in place and will show the picture when the numbers show as fallen later. If we can support them or induce them into doing something, again thats good. We can cc them, so that they spread the word. Funny but doable.

great... Good if it works... God bless

So far the strike is not getting sound coverage in Canadian media which means the government and the media is not taking it seriously. :'(

It should be because complete withdrawal of services is yet to happen. There should be some sensation on monday after pafso announces or begins with the thing.

I do believe, a complete stand still can force Govt. to resolve the issue.

Govt knows that not all CIC employees comes under PAFSO, they also employed temporary replacements, even if PAFSO completely Walks off the others will still work, quality of work may not be the same. So govt have contingency plans and if PAFSO doest cut the deal with Govt their will be mass replacements. PAFSO is confident that new workers cannot provide same quality work but one doesn't take much time to learn things and who knows after 2-3 months the ad-hoc or replacement workers get permanent Jobs. So I guess PAFSO will not take that risk and cut the risk by 3rd week of August and waits until any serious Govt talks. I pity the Visa applicants who are battered in this fight. I wish God that Tim Endwards and Toney clement comes to a deal and close this Strike ASAP

"PAFSO is confident that new workers cannot provide same quality work "... I am praying their replacement workers won't be providing "the same quality of work", since the current quality really sucks. They had my passport for nearly 4 months before they returned it to me with a visa for work permit, during which they asked me to sign and return the same form twice since they couldn't find the first one -- they had the record of my first submission but they couldn't find it, and they told me it'd be faster and saving them some time if I could just submit it again.

The strategy is pretty obvious: taking the economy of this country hostage during the the month of June- August, since it's usually the peak for tourism and student visa before school starts in September, by going on strike they let the country suffer from a big revenue loss from these 2, but when September comes they will no longer have this much of bargaining power, since the peak will be gone
