OWP (in-land spousal) implied status - when does it kick in?

Hi,

This is more of a curiosity for myself. We submitted my spouse's application package (with OWP application) to CPC-M via courier. We've already applied for an extension on her visa stay (waiting on decision), but if we hadn't her status would have expired in a couple of days. Do applicants get OWP implied status once the case processing centre receives the package, or only after the applicant receives their AOR? Or some other time inbetween?

Thanks

You have implied status immediately. However if the application is deemed to be incomplete and returned, then you lose implied status (i.e. it's like you never had it).

Thanks for the answer! That's honestly pretty good of our government to honour that timing. I was wondering if forwarding the OWP application from CPC-M to Vegreville would have to be factored in but I guess they just go by the date received or the mailing date of the complete inland package.
