Hi, I've recently applied for my OWP extension and my wife's PGWP at the same time. However, the cic issued a wp for my wife but requested offer of employment for which i thought of mine and included my work letters and it was refused. Now that i came to know its my wife's which was supposed to be there and i also want to know if my wife's current job is eligible - she works as a pharmacy assistant and also recently been a permanent employee of it. So please help me out as i only have a week left to re apply. I'm so worried cuz i might have to leave canada without her.

Just came to know her noc is 3219 Pharmacy Technician Assistant and on cec 2014 list she falls under noc b please help me.

Hi hashbash,
if she has one year of full time work experience and meet all other requirements for CEC she can apply, here is the link so start reading there:

as for you you can reapply now for OWP if you overcome the reason of rejection or apply for a visitor status the latter will not allow you to work but at least you can stay in canada with your wife.

good luck.

Yeah, I'm actually thinking to apply for owp previously i submitted my employment details instead of my spouse offer letter

1. You need a copy of your wife's job description signed by the employer and it is best to a copy of a pay slip. You have to proof that she is working in NOC A, B or O before you are entitled to a SOWP.

Hello, can I ask a related situation? I just want to know if the OWP extension got refused, can she/he continue working while applying for the restoration process? Thank you

Replying to a 10 year post. Has your permit expired? If so and permit was refused, then no.

No. You are out of status and must stop working immediately.

I'm new on this forum and was just trying to look into some related situation. Thank you for responding. Here's the situation.
OWP - expired in Nov. 2023
- applied extenxion in Oct. 2023
- received the final decision in Feb. 2024 (currently working in a hospital as RN)

SP - with approved PGWP expiring in Nov. 2024.

Can she/he continue working while restoring the status? Given a 90 days restoration period.
Thank you so much

You cannot work if you no longer hold a valid work permit and your work permit extension has been refused.

So the SOWP was refused in February 2024? If so you must stop working. You cannot work until you restore status and permit is approved. Does spouse who is on PGWP have a job.

Ok. Thank you for the information. Yes SP has a full time job. Is that mean he can only go back to work when she/he receives the approved extension? Or can it be an implied status upon submitting the restoration?

If OWP was refused, then you cannot go back to work until work permit is approved. So is spouse on SP or PGWP? If yes, you must include job letter with 3 paystubS.

SP is on PGWP. Can OWP stay here in Canada while on process of restoration?

Yes, you can stay in Canada while you wait for restoration but not work.
