Hi,

Im sure this has been asked before, I am currently in Canada on a 2 working holiday visa. My Canadian wife has applied to sponsor me and I have also applied for the OWP(March 20th), I have been employed for the past 1 1/2 yrs with the same IT company. My whv runs out the 17th June, what are my options if my whv runs out and I havent received the OWP? Can i continue to work?

thanks,
Dave

You will stop working on June 17th, but you can resume working as soon as you get your OWP. Perhaps you can ask your company to give you an extended "vacation".

Thanks for the reply, does it make any difference if I sent my OWP application in with my PR application?

Also when I applied I only paid $155 (March), it was only through this site i discovered I should have paid $255, what would people recommend to do in order to pay the extra $100?

thanks.

It makes no difference whether you sent the OWP application with your PR application or not.

Hopefully you will be out of work for only a month and your employer is understanding!

Do you have a UCI? If you have one, pay the extra 100$ online and send the receipt to them with your UCI, so that they know who it's for. If you don't have a UCI, you would send the receipt to them anyway (with your personal details such as address and passport number and maybe a copy of your ID, just so that they can match it up to your application), only it might take a bit longer for them to attach it to your application, because they don't have you in their system yet.
