OWP application without valid pass

Hi! My husband is protected person in Canada, his OWP is about to expire, he is still waiting for PR. The thing is that we tried to apply for extension of OWP but his travel document expired in 2020. Even if we want to apply on paper we need still to validate his application form, to get the bar codes, but it’s not possible to do that because of his expired passport, and unfortunately we can’t skip this question on application about passport. Have no idea what or how to do that. Thank You in advance for any answer.

You can use the expiry date on his brown paper if it still valid.

You also should include a note indicating that he is a protected person and can’t renew his passport.
