I am trying to look for some information on owner/operator LMIA and would be grateful for any information provided by you guys.
My sister wants to partner up with me to operate a business in Canada and we're looking into getting an owner/operator LMIA work permit for her. What we need to know is can the business be a new one we're starting or purchase from someone or does the business have to be in operation under my name for a period of time before we can apply? the reason she has to be a partner of the business is because she has the managment experience of running a business while i have the accounting experience.
PS. does anyone know if this will eventually lead a pathway to permanent residence for her?
