Overstayed US..would This Affect the Student Visa for Canada?

I spoke to few immigration lawyers and they said it shouldn’t affect getting a study permit but 1 of the lawyers said it will be difficult to get it. What should I do? I don’t know what to do.

Chances are 50/50. Any action presenting the break of rules especially when it is related to immigration will have counter effects to the applicants future if they are trying to apply for a visa from any countries. What any applicant can do in this situation is to be honest and accept the outcome.
