My partner overstayed his visitor visa in Canada approx 6 months ago. He was never deported & his passport was never stamped or marked upon leaving Canada to return to his home country. It was not an electronic passport. Will he get back in to Canada again for a holiday or as a skilled worker? He now has his trade ticket as an Electrician. Also when applying for a work permit using an LMO, do you need to supply a police certificate?
Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated!

The guide says an applicant may be asked to provide a police clearance certificate. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5487ETOC.asp

Eventhough his passport was not stamped it doesn't mean they have no record of his travels(the US and Canada now share entry/exit information) and one member, scylla, said CIC had information about her husband's travels across the border eventhough there were no stamps.
