Hi friends,
I overstayed my allotted time on a visiting visa to usa. Will that become an issue when I file for Canada. Should I produce a pcc for the period.
Thanks

This won't be an issue provided you are 100% open and honest about your immigration history in your PR application.

If you were in the US for six months or more - yes, you will need to obtain a PCC.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. Is obtaining a pcc very difficult.
It's not, but the FBI is taking a long time. You need to find a place to do your fingerprints, verify your identity, and send it to the FBI - the FBI will return a report to you. You can't use a "channeler", whatever they are - the report has to come directly from the FBI. Lately, they are taking a long time - 3 months in some cases - so you should start the process as soon as possible.
