How they work I do not understand. Or working or no. You are lucky after 1 month you got request additional documents.
They asked for my dependants documents days before our PR application finalizing(early March). That was the first time they were asking for documents, so I don't know if it is considered "additional" documents, but anyhow it is a slow process for sure...

My father is sponsoring me and my mother under the DR category of refugees and our application is in process at medical examination stage but he has been living with us for 15 months in home country(Pakistan) just because of pandemic.
Will this thing have any effect on our case or not?

Refugees are not allowed to go to their home country at all. You should talk to a lawyer.

I have friend, his family’s file was in process in Cairo. He sent his application in December 2020 and in March 2021 his family got their visas. Cairo faster than other VO.
