hi everyone,
-My father applied for PR as a protected person in 2022. Me, my mother, and my brother are in our home country.
-While appling for PR, my father has included us on his application.
-Application was submitted in March 2022.
-Then it was reviewed in April 2022.
-Asked for a police report in October 2022, but it was submitted in December 2022.
-On April 2023, my father received a prearrival letter and was asked to submit the same form, which we filled out while submitting in March 2022, and the forms were sent to the New Delhi Visa Office in May 2023.
-On April 2023, PR confirmation was received along with ecopr.
-My father received PR in August 2023.
-We received mail asking us for a medical examination and biometrics in May 2023.
-Biometric submitted in May 2023.
-Medical examination submitted in June 2023.
-June 2023 we received mail from the New Delhi office saying I am not eligible to come to Canada because, at the time of the submission form, I was over 22 years old and asked for an explanation.
-On July 2023, the required documents and explanation letter were sent to New Delhi explaining why I should be coming to Canada with my family.
-No acknowledgement letter was sent.
-On October 2023, my mother received a prearrival letter.
After that, there is no news from anywhere.

Please, anyone can tell me after this what will happen.
Can anyone please tell me what the waiting time is for this type of case?
Or is there anything left to do?
People who have been around us have said that after submitting a biometric and medical examination within 1 year, you will be granted a visa, but till now we haven't gotten any mail, and it's been more than 1 year.

01. The rule is, age lock date ( outside Quebec province) when the claim was made. That means your age should be less than 22 years in the date you father made the claim.
02. If that is ok iRCC should not raise a question regarding your age.
03. In Refugee family PR application, if any member of the family failed to pass the eligibility, the principal applicant notified about this and the application eventually returned. Thats a different scenario. But your mother got pre arrival, means your family passed the eligibility period.
04. As a long time had been passed after the pre arrival,Ask your father to raise a GCMS note.
05 As your visa office is at Delhi, and if you are From Bangladesh, feel free to contact me for anymore assistance.

thanks.

Thank you for answering my questions.
-IRCC raised a question about my age, and we have submitted documents and letters, but we haven't received any mail regarding my age.
-As for the GCMS note, all our documents have been handled by our lawyer. We don't know anything, and if we asked the lawyer, he said it will take some time.
-I am from Nepal. If anyone can assist me, I am more than happy and thank you in advance.

Ask your Lawyar to raise a gcms note, and wait for PPR.
Thats is only work is left for you.
Have patience.

Hi,

I have a question about my PR application

Here’s my situation:
  1. Background:
    • My wife became a permanent resident in Canada through the Protected Person (refugee) process.
    • I was declared as her dependent when she applied for refugee protection and on her PR application.
    • My PR application has already been transferred to an overseas visa office.
    • I’ve submitted all required documents, including the Generic Form, Schedule A, and other forms.
    • I have also completed my biometric requirements.
    • I believe the next steps in the process are the medical exam and then the passport request for visa stamping. I have no idea, this could take months or even years to complete
  2. My Question:
    • If I travel to Canada on a TRV, can I continue with my PR application from within Canada?
    • Would this make the process faster compared to waiting for the overseas processing to be completed?
I appreciate any advice from those who have been in a similar situation or are familiar with the process.

Hi,
I recived my pr this september after my mother applied for us and in the application my father who is outside of canada was included in the application however we havent got any news on his application after "you are now eligable for pre-arrival services" letter but I heard that people who are on social assistance arent eligable for spousal pr is this true in my case or refugees are treated different and my father will be issued his pr?

lock-in date
Need some clarity about age lock-in date for dependent child outside Canada .What IRCC rules define the age limit when submitting PR application or lock in date is the date that submitted the refugee claim.

You will likely struggle to secure a TRV.

Outside Canada, the lock-in date for dependent children is below 22 years. The dependent child must be under the age of 22 while submitting PR or submitting a refugee claim.

Thanks for your reply, just to clarify more when I submitted my refugee claim my out side Canada dependent child was below 22 years but when submitting PR application his age was 22 years and 5 days.
