Hi there, i have a question im hoping that someone could help me with.

If my boyfriend and I get married in Vietnam, how do we get the Vietnamese marriage certificate legal in Canada?

Thank you. I know we would need to get it translated but i mean how do we change my boyfriends status in Canada from single to married if we get married in Vietnam

Canada recognizes legal marriages in other countries. The Vietnamese certificate is legal proof and Canada will recognize it.
I don't have any context to answer about notifying anyone of the marital status change.
Does your boyfriend have any connections to Canada? For example, does he have another immigration status like he's in the country on a work permit, or student visa? He may need to notify CIC in those cases. I don't know for sure though. Is he paying taxes in Canada? If so, he would need to change his status with CRA.

The only thing he has to do is to change is status with CRA from single to married when i'll do is income tax report. No document needed.
