Dear Seniors,

Need your guidance for below mentioned 2 queries:

QUERY 1. I have an overlap of my final year LLB (Bachelors of Law- Regular course) with my full time professional work experience in India. As I was not practically required to attend the college, I was able to complete my LLB along with my job without attending the classes. Should I show my LLB degree for EE as it will give good score and increase my chances alongwith other degrees. But, I am afraid if it would amount to misrepresentation.

QUERY 2. Anyone got his ECA done with below degrees please let me know the Canadian equivalent:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)
- Chartered Accountancy (CA from ICAI)
- Masters in Commerce (M.Com)
- LLB (3 years)

Thanks in advance for your help (desperately needed).

Regards,

Regards,
They have clearly mentioned on some website that they count work experience only AFTER the completion of the degree and not in any way before/during the degree's completion. I do suggest that you show your LLB degree as they'll add more brownie points to you and help you get assessed as a Post Graduate degree holder. That being said, there is a good chance of your CA also being considered a PG degree (some seniors would have to confirm this though).

Thank you for your reply sir.

The problem is that in various posts I have read that WES considers CA plus graduation as equivalent to Bachelor's degree only.

If what you are saying is true even if from some other assessing agency other than WES, I would not risk misrepresentation by showing LLB. I would be happy with CA as Master's degree. That is the exact reason behind my second query. :)

Seniors please confirm if there is any other agency which gives CA some better equivalency.

Thanks in anticipation.

Why are you claiming this would be misrepresentation? Misrepresentation would be you deliberately hiding or lying about your information. In no instance would your situation constitute misrepresentation. Furthermore, claiming points for work experience while studying is possible if it was obtained outside of Canada. No issue there whatsoever.
I am not sure about degree recognition - you'll have to contact WES for that. My suggestion is to be truthful in your application. There are higher chances of being accused of misrepresentation if you don't share all the info, than if you do.
Good luck.

There is absolutely no problem with an overlap in education and work, as lomg as it is outside canada.

Work experience inside canada only counts after completion of your studies.

Assuming that your work experience is in india, you can claim any work you might have done during your studies as well. I did the same thing without any issues.

Hi Andre, I have a doubt if they would ask for our tax slips for the experience form another country. Did they ask you for that information? I will be showing my experience from my country from 2010-2011. How likely is it for them to ask for payment receipt or tax slips?

This is incorrect, work experience before graduation counts as well, as long as you are not applying for CEC, or as long as you were not studying in Canada while you were working.

As long as your employment letter includes your salary and number of hours, there should be no need for paystubs for foreign experience.

I didnt provide any amd was never asked for them.

Some people are missing certain information in their employment letters and then use paystubs to have proof of salary for example. Other than that, not required.
