Hi,

I did the landing back in December 2014 and came out of Canada by Dec end. I got the Canadian PR card in January 2015. Since then I am outside Canada due to my work. Now I am planning to move to Canada my April this year.

As per the rules I still have time (2 years) to stay in Canada till my PR expires which will be in Feb 2020. I want to know

1. When I move to Canada around April/May, Will it be problem at the immigration as I have stayed outside for long time now.

2. Is it normal to move when you have around 2.5 years left in your PR duration. Any complications, problem anyone sees here.

3. Can I move an work in Montreal if I get offer to work there.

Thanks

Hi,
there should not be a problem when you move back to Canada by immigration.
If you are working for any Canadian company and working outside of Canada then those days will be considered as if you're staying in Canada. There's an exception for that. But if you're not working for a Canadian company then there could be an issue but if you still fulfil minimum time spent in Canada then eventually you should get PR card renewed.

1 - No problem, as you currently meet the RO. Only after 3 years (of 5) outside Canada would you be in violation of RO.
2 - Again no problem
3 - You can live/work anywhere in Canada with PR status, including Quebec. May be beneficial to apply for CSQ in Quebec since I think it helps PRs register for French classes or things like that, but not entirely sure on this.
