Hello! I couldn't find this answered anywhere, hoping to get some clarification

My husband holds a TRV and we applied for Outland PR.

If he decides to visit Toronto next month and while he is here, his PR application happens to get approved, what would be the procedure?
Would he be permitted to fly back to India and do his landing after?
Or would he need to remain in Canada until he receives his PR card?

*For context, we're seeking this information due to my husband's work obligations in India, which he needs to fulfill before tendering his notice.*

Thank you in advance!

If it's approved, he'd get a passport request, and usually have 30 days to submit it (abroad). That's it. No issues. He would not be a PR yet but would become one when he travels next to Canada.

Okay perfect, thank you! And just to reconfirm, a virtual landing is not mandatory, it’s just optional if you happen to be in Canada at time of approval?
And lastly, even those with TRV’s still get a passport request for a stamped immigrant visa?

Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it

Correct, it's not mandatory. If his visit to Canada is short, I actually wouldn't recommend it, because timing of the virtual landing can be quite uncertain.

Yes, even those with TRVs get a passport request for the immigration visa.
